An army jawan was killed today in a road accident in Deoghar near the railway bridge on the Jasidih main road.
The deceased has been identified as Ajay Kumar Singh, who was posted to Assam Riffle in Arunachal Pradesh and had come to his home on leave this morning.
According to information, Ajay, a native of Dhanbad, had built a house at Dabur gram on Deoghar Jasidih main road and was going shopping on his bike when he was hit by an unknown vehicle coming from the other side near the ROB.
He was brought to Sadar Hospital in a PCR van, where he was declared brought dead by the doctor on duty.
It is noteworthy that the police could not trace the runaway vehicle that hit the deceased till late evening.
